Good Day,

So tomorrow is June 1. Lets Go Summer!

Here is the Poem Written by my friend Darren  about the painting Tenacious Flow,  from last posting

Abstract isn't even the half of it
While the rest is perfect camouflage
A Technicolor coat On canvas
Brought from yonder back and a short portage
Where seeing ain't believing
And feeling ain't deceiving
But turn this truth to inside out;
I'll show you a liner made of limestone
If you'll agree that such panoply of colour
Doesn't make the man a liar
But some campfire And sun made tea
The shade and hues of summer eve
The dusk and dawn splash across a puzzle
And park upon a canvas Solid lines of black are rent
Via the patience of a tree That lacking superhuman strength
Does the work of a hundred we But in such years our fates will ne'er bequeath
They're there but underneath
And as a poem is to literature By another's eyes much brighter Colours seeing
The keeper of the yellow hues In his under grounded musings
Applies his vaunted scene To the workings of a tree
And presents it thus aglow With his signature of yellow
Helping us with dull eyes see Tenacious flow.

Hello. A New Work

Hello All.

Here  is the Newest Work, Tenacious Flow 24 x 48,  in Oil. It is based on a small rock face at the waters edge. It was  a  collaboration with a friend who is a poet.  I did the painting he wrote a poem based on the painting and Me as the artist. I do not have a copy of the poem as yet but will post it when I do. Both presented at the Tuesday  Muse Poetry group.  I was a fun night with about 12 very diverse presentations, assorted libations and Cake!.

Most of it was done with pallet knife. A new experience for me, I now am working on some more pallet knife works. two of which were started on a recent trip in to the bush in early May. Hope to post them soon.

The  painting on the wall behind is in progress, oil and 36 x 36, no title as yet.

Hope all are well. Go in peace.

Hi  All,

Well its been a very long time since I posted.

I am still here but been a lot on the go. Just finished school in December received my Law office certificate with an 85 % average. It was a great course and was able to do it all on line. Interesting going to school with all my classmates spread out over Ontario, as well as instructors.

Painting is / was going well up to march when we had our last show.  It was a good show, but life has intruded substanialy on painting ect.

All is working much smother now. Some decisions have been made, the most dramatic of which is I have decided a change of location is in order. So, I am moving to Vancouver in December. Its a bit scarry but  I always land on my feet.

Will write more latter......... hope all are well......Go In  Peace

hello and some thoughts on the week

Well, its been  a tough week for Canada.

To the families of  Patrice Vincent  and Nathan Cirillo,  Canada extend our thoughts and prayers.

The question is what do we do now?  We go on, but with an awareness that the world around us both with in Canada and at large is changing.

Canada s role  needs to change. Let it be understood I support our forces, But the way Canada deploys them needs to change. Our role needs to be on Peace keeping and rebuilding, not active combat. Our forces should focus on Humanitarian  aid, as there is clearly a great need in our messed up world, and Canada should be at the leading edge.

Here at home there needs to be vigilant, that these events do not impact our civil liberties, insuring that our Charter of Rights remains unaltered in the "name" of public protection.
Locally,  we need to focus on our communities. Get involved, volunteer your time with a local organisation. help your neighbor,   be aware of whats going on around you. People are struggling to get through life, offer to help when you see some one having a hard day  or moment,  slow down  take a moment to look around and help.

Go in Peace  Norman k.

                                           Giants Toe.    Oil,  30 x 40 inches

Hello All........Well its been a long while. Life has  a way of throwing lots of curves. But for the most part all is well now.  I wont go into it all but some positive high lights of last year.

My daughter moved in with dad just after christmass this year, so life went from peace full and quiet to  a bit of a roller coaster. you don't just get the daughter you get the enterage! and the boy friend! but they are all a good group, and to my surprise the boy friend met me for coffee and asked formal permission to ask out my daughter... which was granted he is a good young man.  Maria finished High school in june  and has now gone to B.C to study to be a Christian youth worker. Now the house is  too quiet!

and  10 days after maria arrived  I went to work to be informed that myself and 650 of my coworkers were being given 12 weeks notice, as out jobs had been out sourced.... to make the company more efficient. (Sears Canada)....well No one was surprised.   So Iv'e been a man of leasure as it were since April. times just flew by.  But have now picked up my paints and started working again after a long hiatis.

The painting goes well. Several ne Projects in the works. Artists below the line are having a major show in feb to mid March, in the Parrot Gallery here in town  so I'm working on 5 works for that and  as well we have a one weekend show at end of feb so very busy with art.  As well I hope to be going back to school starting oct 1, just waiting on some paperwork. will be doing my courses to write Law clerk certification.

will post more often now as  I have a new computer.
